Hello
Hello! I'm Sarah Vermeire, and I'm glad to have you here on my website. My passion lies in helping children, families, and their supporters understand the effects of trauma, loss, abuse, and neglect while fostering deeper connections and stronger relationships. With over 15 years of experience as a qualified and registered social worker, I also specialise in Therapeutic Life Story Work (Rose Model) and have training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (Level 2), parent-child relational skills, play work, and therapeutic parenting, with a particular focus on adoption. I provide therapeutic interventions through the local authority for parents of who have been previously looked after or adopted, as well as private support for those whose children are not.

I firmly believe that relationships are fundamental to feelings of safety, and my interventions aim to build skills and confidence, empowering you as a parent to cultivate the best possible relationship with your children.

My Story
I spent several years as a front-line social worker before transitioning to support foster carers and adopters, and subsequently joining a local authority therapeutic support team leaving in 2023 to become self employed. This has allowed me to concentrate on my true passions and find ways to support families more intensively. I believe there's always more to learn about our relationships with others, both adults and children, especially in modeling attuned and meaningful connections. As an adoptee and a mother of three, I have a personal understanding of how trauma affects relationships and how it influences both my connection with my children and my own emotions.
